Los Estatutos que rigen AETU y que la hacen un organismo moderno y democrático prevén la integración directa como miembros de número de todos aquellos que estén en posesión del Diploma de Técnico Urbanista, expedido por el Instituto Nacional para las Administraciones Públicas (INAP), o por las Escuelas Regionales, así como de aquellas otras personas, mediante otro procedimiento, que se hayan distinguido o desarrollen su actividad profesional en el campo del Urbanismo.

CIP/ICU - Canadian Institute of Planners/Institut Canadien des Urbanistes

PIA - Planning Institute Australia

The Planning Institute was founded in 1951 and is the only national organisation representing qualified urban and regional planners and other related disciplines in Australia. It is a federation of State and Territory Divisions with National Council comprising one representative from each Division, an elected National President,an Honorary Secretary/Treasurer, the National Young Planner Convenor and others as set out in the PIA Constitution and PIA By-Laws.

The Institute runs a number of events at both the National and Divisional levels, including a biennial National Congress, an Annual State Conference in most States/Territories, special purpose seminars, and a number of social occasions. The Institute also presents National Awards for Planning Excellence to recognise and publicise outstanding achievements in planning and design, and has a code of ethics to which all members are required to adhere.

Members receive a National journal and Divisional newsletters to keep up to date. Membership classifications provide for primarily Corporate, Student and Associate grades.

L’Istituto Nazionale di Urbanistica è stato fondato nel 1930 per promuovere gli studi edilizi e urbanistici, diffondendo i princìpi della pianificazione.

Lo Statuto, approvato con DPR 21.11.1949, definisce l’INU come “Ente di diritto pubblico ... di alta cultura e di coordinamento tecnico giuridicamente riconosciuto” (art. 1).

L’INU è organizzato come libera associazione di Enti e persone fisiche, senza fini di lucro. In tale forma l’Istituto persegue con costanza nel tempo i propri scopi statutari, eminentemente culturali e scientifici: la ricerca nei diversi campi di interesse dell’urbanistica, l’aggiornamento continuo e il rinnovamento della cultura e delle tecniche urbanistiche, la diffusione di una cultura sociale sui temi della città, del territorio, dell’ambiente e dei beni culturali.

Association of Dutch Urban Designers

The Bond van Nederlandse Stedebouwkundigen BNS, Association of Dutch Urban Designers, founded in 1935, and the Bond van Nederlandse Planologen BNP, Assoiation of Dutch Urban Planners, founded in 1991, have merged into the Beroepsvereniging van Stedebouwkundigen en Planologen bnSP, Professional Organisation of Urban Designers and Planners in June 1998. Urban designers and planners are working as professionals in the field of spatial planning, on international, national, regional and local scale.

New Zealand Planning Institute

Established in 1949, the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI®) is the professional body for planners, resource managers and environmental practitioners in New Zealand. It has 1400 members across the country in the private, public and academic sectors.

Singapore Institute of Planners (SIP)

Town planning had emerged as a substantive field of the professional practice in Singapore as early as the 1950's. In the 60's, planners were mainly expatriates, but with the gradual increase of local professionals who had completed formal training in urban and regional planning abroad, the Singapore branch of the Royal Town Planning Institute was formed. The Singapore Institute of Planners (SIP) was formally registered on 27 April 1971.

Activities of the TTSP have included

Providing input on the 1997 Planning and Development of Land Act, Trinidad and Tobago's new Planning Act. The Act has been introduced into the Parliament, but has not yet been passed into law. Copies are available upon request.

Liaising with the Government to ensure that Planning related projects are directed towards Planning professionals.

Initiating and assisting in the development of the Graduate Program in Planning and Development at the St. Augustine Campus of the University of the West Indies. The program started in September 1995 and offers postgraduate degrees in Planning.

Hosting in 1991 the 6th Plenary Conference of the Commonwealth Association of Planners and a Regional Workshop on "Challenges and Opportunities for Planners; the Environment and the New Technologies"

Our international development efforts have been financed by the Commonwealth Fund through CAP, USAID, and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
